JillyBean was diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes on Sept 6, 2009. Type 1 and Type 2 are two very different monsters. Type 1 is genetic, it is not caused by diet or exercise. Jilly has to take injections of insulin before each meal, before bed and sometimes in the middle of the night. There is currently no cure and if not controlled correctly T1D can lead to very serious and deadly complications. I am not a doctor and am in no way qualified to give medical advice. I am only a mom who is blogging in order to share with others what it is like to live with T1D, to connect with other children and parents who are also living through this, and to share experiences and tips.
A mom to a T1D child, sewer, crafter, thrifter and collector. I'm attempting to live a simple and colorful life.
